4 ways to tap into your inner Beyoncé Slayage. Business & Life Goals.

Are you in Formation?

This week I had an experience that I’m still having trouble putting into words. This week I experienced Queen Bey in all her GLORY. And yes her concert and my front row tickets were worth EVERY PENNY. However, as I sat there watching this 32-year-old women dance like she was 16, belting out notes that I could only dream of hitting, I began to reflect.

While although I was at the Beyoncé Concert for pure entertainment purposes I left feeling educated.

Leaving the formation Concert, I left with 4 take always.

1.     The most important relationship you’ll have in life is the one you have with yourself.

As Beyoncé introduced my favorite song of hers, “Me, Myself and I,” she began talking about what it means to invest in yourself as a woman. As a woman, we tend to put so much pressure on ourselves, pressure on the relationships we have with the people around us, while in the end mishandling the relationship we have with ourselves.

Personally, up until a few months ago, I was never one to value the relationship I have with myself. However, once I noticed how invested I was with making the people around me happy, and constantly trying to figure out ways to make them smile, I knew I needed to be doing the same for myself.

Once I took noticed, I begin redefine what made Domonique happy and started spending more time on not only making those things happen, but just more time with me in general. I can now say that I’m happy with the woman I look at in the mirror. I agree with Beyoncé statement that before you can truly make others happy, you have to be happy within yourself.

2.     If Beyoncé Can do it we all can do it!

The Queen took a moment to remind the audience, that just because she’s “Beyoncé” doesn’t mean she’s be given any type of special 24 hours, we all have the same 24 hours.

Let’s all go back to the beginning of Beyoncé’s career. Beyoncé wasn’t born into a wealthy family, she wasn’t connected to famous people, she didn’t blow up because of social media. NOPE! Beyoncé recipe was hard work and consistency.  “I dream it, I work hard, I grind 'til I own it.” So in short, stop with the excuses, with talent, hard work and dedication we can all get to where we envision our lives to be.

3.     Team work makes a dream work

Momma taught me good home training

My Daddy taught me how to love my haters

My sister taught me I should speak my mind

My man made me feel so God damn fine (I'm flawless!)

Beyoncé reminds us all that no one gets to the top alone. We all need people around us that speak life into us. That inspire us when we feel like crap and what to give up. When Beyoncé was grinding hard to make it with Destiny’s Child, she had an amazing team. Her mother styled everyone, her dad was their manager and her band mates were her best friends.

We sometimes felt like we don’t have the right connection or that we can do it all alone, but no one can do it alone. We all need to take a step back and build an amazing team around us to help us reach our goals. I challenge you (and myself for that matter) to sit down and think of the people who are in your life that can be on your team, reach out to each of them and see if there willing to help you reach the top. You might just surprise yourself on the money team you’ll be able to create.

4.     Maybe veganism isn’t food slavery like I thought

Can I just tell you how impressed I was by Beyoncé’s athleticism and pure talent? This woman danced HARD for two hours straight with 30-60 second breaks for costume changes. I’m 29 and run up a block and get tired. Beyoncé has always been outspoken about how in recent years she’s turned to a vegan life style.

Is this new vegan lifestyle the answer to why this woman in her thirties is still able to run around on stage with this much energy? Not sure, but Beyoncé did inspire me to take better care of my body, at the end of the day, if I want to take over the talk show world, its going to take lots of dedication, hard work and long hours. Working that hard and not living a healthy lifestyle ( I ate five guys for lunch) Is only going keep you one step behind the curve. So we’ll I turn over this knew leaf in building my brand, loving me more, and building my team, Beyoncé reminded me to take care of my body as well.

If you’ve seen Beyoncé in concert what was one lesson you took away?
